Roots of Sinusitis
Everywhere you go, whatever you do, sinusitis can be triggered because sinusitis causes are literally all around you. Even your own actions and activities can flare up a sinusitis attack. Here is a list of the most common sinusitis causes and brief descriptions for each on how they cause sinusitis.
Bacterial and fungal infection is on the top of the list of sinusitis causes.
Sinusitis is basically the inflammation of the sinuses. This condition is caused by the trapped bacteria or fungi in the blocked mucus. If this mucus is not able to be drained outside the nose, the inflammation will worsen. Aside from bacteria and fungi, certain viruses can cause sinusitis. These viruses may affect the whole organ including the nose and sinuses. They can prevent the proper disposal of the mucus and therefore the development of sinusitis can push through. Sometimes, blowing of the nose can trigger bacterial infection in the sinuses thus it can be one of the sinusitis causes.
Sometimes, we are unaware that foreign objects enter our nose up to the sinuses such as tiny insects or particles. This will clog the sinuses and the bacteria-infected mucus will then be trapped and can lead to sinusitis.
Some sinusitis causes are not as common as the ones mentioned above. There are cases of sinusitis that are caused by allergy attacks, polyps or benign tumors, asthma, stress, dehydration, temperature or air pressure, humidity, pollution, and the likes. Some people develop sinusitis because of some abnormalities in their own body like example some people have narrow sinuses and they are also prone to sinusitis and also some have malfunctioning mucus membranes.
