How to Know if You Have Sinusitis

Sinusitis is simply the swelling of the sinuses. With this swelling, the mucus which the sinuses produce is blocked from getting out of the nose. But still, it will be hard for someone to know if he or she has sinusitis without knowing the common sinusitis symptoms. The pain in the sinuses is just one of the many sinusitis symptoms. Knowing all the symptoms can help you find out if what you are feeling is really sinusitis and for you to act on it accordingly.

Though, it is also important to know that not all people can have similar sinusitis symptoms. Symptoms may vary from person to person. With this fact, it is still important for you to consult with your physician if there is something unnatural that you are feeling.

The most common sinusitis symptoms are the following:

1. Pain in the area of the sinuses (cheeks, nose and the space between the eyes)
2. Runny nose or the involuntary discharge of fluids from the nose (the discharge can be thin and clear or yellowish and thick sometimes with blood)
3. Irritation of the nose that causes sneezing and/or coughing
4. Headache
5. Fever

Sometimes, there are other symptoms that may come out that. There may be a feeling of fullness in the ear, foul breath, and swelling of the eyes. Some of these symptoms may indicate the acuteness of the condition. It is suggested that on the onset of the earliest symptoms, you should go and talk with your doctor for professional advice.
